Antarctic Ice Mass Loss

Antarctica’s ice sheet mass has decreased due to a changing climate. Orange and red shades indicate areas that have lost ice. Between 2002 and 2020, Antarctica shed approximately 150 billion metric tons of ice per year, adding to global sea level rise.
